This winter weather has definitely got us dreaming of sunshine, flowers, and outdoor fun. Since most of us are a few months away from warmer spring weather, we decided there’s no better way to welcome spring a little early than to do a home decor refresh! Read on for 4 quick and easy ways to update your space for the upcoming season.
Bring the Outside In
This may seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how much a home filled with plants can affect your mood, and even clean your air! Add a larger plant to brighten up a corner of a room, get some easy-to-care-for cacti and succulents to add to window sills and patio areas, or get a hard-to-kill pothos plant that can help clean your air while it brightens your space. Or make a trip to your local farmer’s market to get a weekly bouquet of all your fave flowers for your dining room table.
Add a Pop of Color
Nothing says spring like fun colors, whether you want to go bold and bright, pastel, or floral, mix things up by getting new bedding, like a colorful duvet, or get breezy new curtains in a Spring floral print, or even pick up a funky art print from a thrift store or estate sale to really mix up your living room. Little inexpensive touches can totally change your vibe!
Organize, Organize, Organize
With all the recent popularity of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, why not get in on the trend and make your closet look great too? Give your closets a once over, and donate anything you haven’t worn in a year, go through all your books, dishes, pantries etc. You can also find cute baskets and organizers at a dollar store for an inexpensive way to stay organized!
Start Spring Cleaning
We know, we know: It’s a little cliche, but if you’re going to freshen up your space, you might as well start with a clean slate. Take a weekend and really deep clean. Get those often neglected areas like baseboards, rent a steam cleaner if you have carpets, dust, change your air filters, wash your windows, and while you’re at it, open up your blinds and let the light in for a fresh spring feeling!
