Halloween is right around the corner–and it wouldn’t be the scariest night of the year without plenty of Halloween snacks (and maybe cocktails). Exhibit A: this Halloween Snack Mix! (Think Chex mix, but with a spooky twist!)
My Halloween Snack Mix is full of chocolate (naturally!) and festive treats like striped candy corn, eyeball sprinkles, and green, orange, and purple M&Ms! You can always switch up the candy toppings to fit your preferences! Don’t like candy corn? Leave them out! Swap in another candy! Love white chocolate? Drizzle some of that on!
Oh, and I should mention: The base of this snack mix is a delicious salty and crunchy mix of Chex cereal, pretzels, and popcorn. It’s the perfect marriage of salty and sweet!
Break up the snack mix and serve it in individual cups or bowls. Even adults will love this treat; I’ve been snacking on it at my desk all week! For all the instructions, scroll on–and have a happy and safe Halloween!

- PREP TIME: 15 MINS
- SERVES: 8-10
- Chex Mix
- Halloween Treats
- Easy Halloween Food
Ingredients
- 4 cups rice or corn Chex cereal
- 2 1/2 cups pretzels
- ½ to 1 bag popped popcorn (add more or less, depending on how much you like popcorn)
- 20 to 24 ounces chocolate, melted (I recommend using something like Ghirardelli melting wafers or almond bark, as opposed to chocolate chips which don’t melt as well)
- Colorful sprinkles
- Candy corns
- Fall or Halloween-colored M&Ms
Directions
Step 1:
Add the Chex, pretzels, and popcorn to a large bowl.
Step 2:
Melt 20 ounces of the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each. Once it’s melted, pour it over the snack mixture and stir to coat everything well.
Step 3:
Spread the mixture evenly on a cookie sheet lined with parchment or a silicone baking mat.
Step 4:
Melt the remaining 4 ounces chocolate and drizzle it over any bare spots in the snack mixture. Immediately add the toppings so that they can stick to the snack mix while the chocolate is wet. Sprinkle over a few handfuls candy corn, m&ms, and plenty of sprinkles!
Step 5:
Let sit for 20-30 minutes so the chocolate can harden. Break apart and serve in individual bowls (or muffin papers)!
