These vibrant, colorful fruit kebabs scream summer. This is the perfect picnic snack, appetizer, or side to throw together at the last minute because it requires absolutely zero cooking and minimal effort. Here’s what you need to do:

fruit skewers

Grab 4-5 of your favorite fruits, and slice them up. Slice watermelon into cubes, pineapple into rings, and then quarter them, slice peaches into wedges, and kiwi into discs. Berries are great because they don’t require any prep! Choose a pattern, and slide your fruit onto the kebab sticks in that pattern. You can also make them all random.

Whether they’re all in a matching pattern or random, the effect will be beautiful! Arrange the fruit kebabs on a nice large platter for serving: I like to fill in any gaps in the platter with fresh basil leaves and some extra berries and pieces of fruit. This will create the most beautiful platter!

This can even be made up to a few hours ahead of your celebration or party and kept covered in the fridge. Basil leaves can wilt, so I recommend adding those at the last minute.

Serve up this colorful platter at summer parties, picnics, or a birthday or shower! No matter the occasion, these fruit kebabs will certainly be a hit. Happy snacking!

  • PREP TIME: 20 MINS
  • SERVES: 18

  • picnic snacks ideas

Ingredients

  • ½ a large watermelon
  • 1 large pineapple
  • 3 large peaches
  • 2 container fresh blackberries
  • 4-5 large kiwis

Directions

Step 1:

Rinse your peaches and berries before beginning.

Step 2:

Slice your watermelon into wedges, then cut away the rind and slice the fruit into cubes.

Step 3:

Use a pineapple corer to create pineapple rings, and slice those into quarters.

Step 4:

Slice your peaches. Use a paring knife to peel your kiwis, then slice them into discs.

Step 5:

Arrange the fruit on your skewers in any desired pattern. I went for a pseudo rainbow effect, by going in this order–watermelon, peach, pineapple, kiwi, blackberry. Feel free to get creative and use any order you like!

Pro tip: These can be made a few hours ahead, but peaches don’t hold up super well for longer than that once they’ve been sliced up, so keep that in mind. Place the fresh basil leaves on the platter just before serving so they are not wilty.
