What better way to celebrate National Beer and Pizza day (October 9 – it’s tomorrow!) than to host a pizza making night!? Pizza night has become a staple not only because pizza is so damn delicious, but because it’s also a really fun and interactive way to host a get-together. We’ve done it so many times that I’m going to share all my tips and tricks with you guys to host an epic pizza party of your own.
Supplies:
An oven
A pizza stone (this makes the most authentic pies, but any old pan will work)
Beer (So necessary)

For the Crust:
Pizza Dough
Cornmeal
Crust. This is a big one. We have tried every recipe on the Internet, and while it’s super fun to experiment with baking crust, we’ve found it’s best to leave this one to the experts. You can save on time and create some pies that rival ones you get at your favorite pizza joint by actually swinging by your favorite pizza joint and picking up a giant ball of dough. So many pizza parlors offer this option, but I’ve heard some spots like Whole Foods even sell pre-made, ready to bake pizza dough too!
Divide your dough into quarters and roll each ball out on a cornmeal-ed, not floured, surface. The cornmeal makes for a really yummy and authentic texture. Stretch the dough thinner than you’d think because it will definitely puff during baking, and poke with a fork before adding sauce and toppings to prevent those giant bubbles.

Sauce and Toppings:
This is the fun part. I love using a classic red sauce, but you can totally sub in your favorite jar of Alfredo sauce for white pies. Spoon a hearty layer of sauce onto your rolled and stretched dough before adding cheese, veggies, and anything else your heart desires! If you’re using anything delicate like fresh basil, be sure to sprinkle your pizza with olive oil before baking to prevent burning your toppings.

Pizza Topping Inspo:
Red sauce
Slices of mozzarella cheese
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Red and green peppers
Olives
Sliced onion
Pineapple
Fresh Basil
Parmesan cheese
Garlic
More mozzarella
How to Cook It:
Preheat your oven as hot as it will go – for me, this is 500 degrees – with the pizza stone inside. It will get all nice and hot so when you scoot your prepped pizza in, it will form a delicious, crispy crust. Bake for about 8 minutes and check from there until your cheese is bubbly, your toppings are warmed and your crust is nice and brown. Are you craving pizza yet? Use a long spatula to pull out your pies, and if you’re an animal like me, be sure to have a big saucer of ranch on hand for dunking.

Nothing says happiness like beer and pizza. Nothing!
