star nails design

Whether you choose to wear something sparkly or not, a nail design with stars will be the perfect accent to any holiday outfit you plan. From your company office party to your friend’s New Year’s Eve bash, this look is lots of fun and ideal for the holiday season. Plus, the polishes used for this look come in a super cute set!  (if you don’t have time to wait for the star glitter nail polish delivery, you can use any special glitter shapes from craft stores, like snowflake or square glitter shapes, to achieve the same festive look).

Celestial-inspired star nails have been trending since the summer–but these designs feel particularly apropos for the holidays. Maybe it’s the magical quality they give off or the festive, confetti-like look that feels totally party-ready. Or perhaps it’s that stars remind us to remember to look up, even when it’s dark out. No matter the reason for their popularity, there’s no denying that manis with star glitter are just fun–that’s reason enough for us.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Start with clean, filed nails and apply one coat of Get Discovered sheer pink polish.
  2. Let your nails dry for a couple of minutes and add another coat of the sheer pink polish. Repeat this step for another coat if you prefer an opaque ‘nude’ look to a sheer one.
  3. Using the star glitter nail polish, Lost in Luna, from the same polish duo, place each glitter star in a polka dot pattern using a toothpick, orangewood stick, or small paintbrush.
  4. Let your nail look dry for another five minutes and use a thick, glossy top coat to protect the glitter stars from stick out and snagging your clothes. You may want to apply a second coat after letting the first dry for five minutes.
