The material of the dress has a slight hatching pattern, so I wouldn't recommend it for a business-oriented cocktail hour. It's great for all other occasions; definitely, my go to! At my height, the dress hits mid-way on the thighs, which when I sit makes it feel slightly too short in the back (you're not exposed at all; it just feels like a more likely possibility.).
