Dress too small

Both small and large? DO NOT IRON
I am 5'1" about 135 lbs. This was a super flattering dress. It needed to be hemmed and I took the shoulders in a bit too. I could not no matter what get the wrinkles out of this fabric. I tried washing, air drying, tumble drying with a wet towel, you name it. I checked the tag which said iron on low heat, so I did that and it definitely damaged the fabric.
