Cute
Based on reviewers with my similar sizes I went with the medium. It's just a tiny bit more snug then I would have liked in the tummy/hip area, it has a bit of stretch to it though so I think I'll keep it. I also thought, since I am so short, that it would hit closer to my knee. Its' a few inches above and I was surprised by that. If you are on the tall side this will be more of a mini dress. It's thin material but the lining is enough.

Super Cute Evening Wear
Fabulous dress! It falls really nicely, so between the loose fit and the lace it is really flattering. Even having a fairly long torso, it still hit at around mid-thigh length and didn't feel like it was going to ride up at all. I felt comfortable in it, but it's definitely not a dress to be active in! I would consider a smaller size, but having large shoulders there's a chance a smaller size wouldn't have been as comfortable as the medium was.
