This dress can make anyone look good, I bought a large and x-large out of fear one wouldn't fit but the dress is true to size. I'm 5'4 150lbs and usually a large and it's pretty much my size. It's a little long on the sleeve and hem but the rest loos amazing. I'm sure if I was two inches taller I wouldn't need to get it altered but considering the qualify and the fit I don't mind. This dress is amazing! It is so comfortable! I wore it to a wedding, and received so many compliments on it! The fabric is nice and thick so it feels like it sort of sucks you in a bit which is nice! I am typically a Smedium, so I ordered a medium, which ended up being way too big/long on me...If it is not totally snug, the shoulders will slip off... I ordered this in a large, I'm 5'7' and usually wear a size 7-8 in dresses - I'm pear shaped with larger hips and thighs and smaller up top. This dress is absolutely stunning.
