Put a fun “twist” on your everyday bun with our Twisted Up-Do hair tutorial! Inspired by the work of Ashlee Rose (give her a follow!), this elegant and perfectly tousled look is perfect for showing off a backless maxi, or when you’re in the mood to dress up your second day hair. Find our full tutorial with steps below!
Steps:
- Start this look by gently backcombing the crown of the hair for volume.
- Lightly mist with a light hold hairspray.
- Gather the hair, and secure into a low ponytail with a clear hair-tie.
- Next, twist the ponytail up counterclockwise making sure to leave the ends down.
- Hold the twist in place and pin until it feels secure.
- Carefully pull up the right side to widen, and blend that section over the low part of the twist.
- Pin the left side in place.
- Complete the look with hairspray!

Gorgeous hairstyle, thanks for the step by step instructions. I have thin hair and it looks okay with my hair. Anyway, I have collected few hairstyles for thin hair here.
Thank you for good tutorial.
I often get inspiration from here http://newaylook.com/best-short-hair-updos/ But I’ve never gotten a twisted updo to work for me before. With the rolling method it doesn’t look clean, and with the twisting method I don’t know what to do with all the stuff at the top. Will be try with your tips
