It’s official: Pastels are anything but predictable or precious this season. For spring, pretty Easter-inspired hues are at the top of the trending list–and they’re as cool as they are sweet. There’s just something undeniably optimistic about these candy colors–especially after what feels like the longest winter in the history of winters–so what better time than now to try an abstract pastel nail design?
When it comes to spring nail trends, negative space designs, minimal abstract graphics, and of course, pops of cheery pastels are leading the way into brighter days. Scroll on to see how to DIY this mani and score all three trends in one fun, fresh look!
Abstract Pastel Nail Design
Supplies:
- Various shades of pastel nail polish (your choice!)
- Nail art liner brush
- Angled nail art clean-up brush
Instructions:
Step 1: Start off by using a liner brush to outline the first shape.
Step 2: With either a liner brush or the bottle brush, fill in the shape.
Step 3: For shapes that are easier on the top edge of the nail bed, you can just use the brush from the bottle to create the whole shape (as I did with the green part of this second shape). Use an angled clean-up brush to clean up mistakes from each shape. Continue on each nail with varied colors and shapes of your choosing!
