Your friend said “yes” to the dress and to their new partner and you have officially been invited to the wedding. If you are like me, the first thing you think about is what dress you are going to wear, how you will do your hair, and most importantly, how you are going to do your makeup for the big day.

Whether the wedding is outdoors or indoors, having your makeup last can be super challenging, but it doesn’t have to be. Ahead, I’m providing tips to making your wedding guest makeup last from the ceremony to the afterparty (and showing off a few of my favorite dresses for wedding guests in the process)!
Wedding Guest Makeup That Lasts:
Instructions:
Step 1: Prep your skin before makeup application using your favorite moisturizer and SPF product. Once that’s settled in, continue with the following steps.
Step 2: Prime your skin! This step is super important as your primer will help your foundation last longer.
Step 3: Set your face with setting powder. Whether you have oily or dry skin, pressing a light hand of setting powder on your skin will help lock your foundation in place.
Step 4: Apply your favorite foundation. I would go with something more matte or skin-like for coverage and long wear.
Step 5: Apply your concealer and contour as you normally would.
Step 6: Set your under-eye area and the perimeter of your face.
Step 7: Set your entire face using face powder.
Step 8: Apply your favorite blush, highlighter, and lip product.
Step 9: Set your face with a setting spray. This step is key to helping all the powders you’ve applied melt seamlessly into your skin and it will help your look last longer!

Once you’ve finished your face and slipped into your favorite wedding guest dress, pack your makeup bag. Be sure to throw in your lipstick, face powder, brush, and blotting papers just in case! If you are a heavy sweater, you will still sweat, but your makeup will last through the night. So that when it’s time for your photo op, you can quickly touch up and look fresh-faced. Confidently dance the night away knowing your makeup will still be on at the end of the evening!
