With springtime quickly approaching, it’s time to adjust our beauty routines. This pretty spring makeup look is perfect for everything from date nights and girls’ nights to special occasions like bridal showers, weddings, graduations–you get the idea. Here, I used a full face of Black-owned brands, and I’m showing you just how easy it is to get this look.
The Eyes:
First stop: brows. Going in with the Lip Bar’s Micro Brow pencil in Black Brown, I created hair-like strokes. I used the remaining concealer from cleaning up my brows to prep my eyelids. When it comes to adding color to your lids, start with the lighter shades always. Using Colored Raine’s Queen of Hearts palette, I first set my eye with Heir and applied the product in windshield wiper motions. I added Ladyship to add more depth, then Eclipse, which is a bright pink shade from the OPV Beauty Rainbow Splash palette.
With bright, bold colors, you always have the ability to build it up or sheer it up– just remember to blend. A great tip is to use a clean eyeshadow brush to marry all your shades together! To add a bit of pop and shimmer to my eyes, I went in with the shade Noblewoman from Colored Raine and sealed the deal with Pat Mcgrath’s Fetish Eyes Mascara.
The Face:
With so many people experiencing maskne, we are seeing more and more skincare/makeup hybrid foundations. One of the newest to hit the market is the Lip Bar’s Skin Tint. Soft, skin-like, lightweight, and buildable are the best ways to describe what Cocoa Bean felt like as I applied it to my face. Although I pressed the foundation in with a brush, you can also use your hands to apply it! If you like a bit more coverage under your eyes, you can go in with a medium-coverage concealer like I did. Using Fenty Beauty’s concealer, I brightened up my face and covered my hyperpigmentation. Make sure you set both underneath your eyes and your face to ensure your base stays put!
My Marena Beaute Blush in Cardinal came to steal the show: Blush is such an essential to spring makeup looks, and my favorite shade to go in with is a pretty pink. Apply your blush to the high parts of your cheekbones in upwards motions for the best effect. I topped off the look with a golden highlighter, SK+N/Muse oil to glow, a pink gloss, and of course, my favorite Lulus accessories.
