This summer certainly looks different than ones in the past, but I’m still trying to enjoy many of the same summertime staple recipes that we’ve come to know and love! Cocktails like this Summer Citrus Sangria can still be enjoyed even if not in the company of a large gathering like in past summers. I’ve pared down this summer sangria recipe to make just two servings: perfect for a date night at home or a casual evening with your roommate.
If you have more than two people in your household, you can certainly double this recipe to make four drinks! And, if you just want sangria for one, you can just cut the recipe in half.
Speaking of recipe tweaks, you can change the fruit used here to suit your preference! I used citrus but you can use berries or anything else you have on hand. I hope you’re able to enjoy this Summer Citrus Sangria outside on your porch or backyard patio–it’s definitely the perfect warm-weather drink!

This recipe comes from our food contributor, Stephanie Simmons, of Blue Bowl. Her goal with her kitchen-tested recipes is to get you excited about cooking, show you how good food can taste, and prove that you don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen to make a good meal.
- PREP TIME: 10 MINS
- SERVES: 2
- sangria recipe
- citrus sangria
- summer cocktails
Ingredients
- 2 187 mL bottles of Moscato wine (the small ones, that are sold in packs of four!)
- 2-3 Tbsp Brandy (I like Apple Brandy!)
- 1 Orange
- 1 Lime
- Lemon-lime soda
Directions
Step 1:
Slice the fruit into thin slices.
Step 2:
Add the fruit, moscato, and brandy (use more or less to taste) to a 4 cup glass measuring cup or a pitcher and stir to combine. Let sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour to let the fruits infuse into the drink before serving.
Step 3:
Divide the sangria between two glasses. Add ice, and top each glass with some lemon-lime soda! If you want your drink a tad sweeter (I always do!) add a squeeze of agave, honey, or maple syrup (to taste) and stir well.
*You can, of course, double or even halve this recipe to make either 4 glasses or just one glass!
