sleek side part hairstyle

It’s often the simplest styling tricks that make the most impact and these days, keeping things simple but exciting is, well, everything. You already know that switching from a center divide to a classic side part can easily transform your look–and vice versa; the behind-the-ear hair tuck is yet another brilliant hairstyling hack that takes but a second. Both tricks require minimal effort with maximum return, which is just one reason to try this side part/bobby pin hairstyle.

Aside from the super low difficulty level of this style, side part hair is flattering on everyone. Tucking your tresses behind one ear helps highlight your features, not to mention any cute earrings or hairpins you just might happen to be wearing! A stack of spaced gold bobby pins also adds an extra level of intention–and shimmer–to this sleek, simple look.  A little no-fuss fancy never hurts, right? Right.

Sleek Side Part/Bobby Pin Hairstyle

      1. Smooth and straighten hair with a flat iron, working in small horizontal sections.  Use heat-protective products that fit your hair type. (Note: I blow-dried with leave-in conditioner and smoothing lotion using a flat brush before styling)
      2. Spray with conditioning spray and brush through to lay down fly-aways
      3. Use Clear paste or preferred edge control product to smooth down the side where pins will be placed. Also, use this product to brush through the front of the heavy part for hold.
      4. Place decorative pins.
      5. Smooth down one final time with medium-hold spray, as needed.
